Crysis Wars / SSM AEGIS

For those of you that run mods on your Crysis Wars Servers, Be Aware that any mods you apply to your server have the possibly of creating a security leak and access to your internal commands in your Crysis Wars server with out having Admin Access.


I am very shocked to read this on Crymods News   http://www.crymod.com/newspage.php?news=56659  ,  SSM AEGIS  has been a very unstable mod ,and has had a security leak which enabled Hackers to kick and ban players out of the Crysis Wars servers , the hackers have shuttled through SSM AEGIS to gain access to the standard Crytek Kick / Ban commands, when this had started in our Crysis Wars server ,Testing had begun to find out  how the hackers were accessing internal Crytek Commands in the Crysis Wars servers without have Admin access.

Basically what was happening when a player joined the server he would be kicked from the server then when he rejoined he was found to be banned from the server for a 30 min ban , after 30 min he could rejoin the server , this command was entered to stop the 30 min ban ( ban_timeout 0 ) was added to the server configurations to stop the players from the 30 min ban , now the players could join the server and only be kicked and then the player could rejoin the server immediately and play , after 2 days of testing and reworking the SSM AEGIS MODS , it was found that removing the SSM AEGIS Mods had fixed the problem.
